Kendyll is ONE year old!!
I know I'm seriously behind on updates, but I just have to share some birthday pictures!
Anticipating the treat - carrot cake!
Amazingly didn't go straight for the flame. *phew!* She stuck her finger in the carrot.
MMMMmmmmmmm!
Time for our monthly pictures! I had to hold Ryker back to take this. He likes having his picture taken so he can see it later. Maybe he'll be an actor.
Okay, Ryker can join in now. Kendyll is happy to have her favorite brother by her side.
Happy Birthday, Sweetie!!

Peace and Quiet
Can't resist a cute sleeping picture. Ryker sleeps surrounded by stuffed animals and his favorite blankie tucked under his arm.
Once in a while he still likes to get in his old jumperoo, even though he is clearly way too big for it. I think he sees Kendyll having fun in there and he wants to join in. On this particular day he reminisced by falling asleep in it like he used to do, too.
Special Moments
I was about to just take a quick picture of Kendyll's cute outfit when Ryker decided he wanted to get in on the fun. He climbed up on the couch with a big smile on his face and started hugging and kissing Kendyll.
He really seems to like her more and more. He doesn't see her as an object to poke and prod as much and sees her more as a person and potential play mate. Kendyll interacts more every day and has started reaching out and grabbing things. When she grabs him he just thinks it's hilarious. In the bath, Ryker will start splashing and she will join in and make her own splashes, too! As you can see by the first picture he does still poke her a little...he's getting better.

They really get each other going

Biiiiig brother hug

They look like they're talking to each other here.

Happy 5 Month Birthday Kendyll!!
Oh my has she grown! Our baby girl is working hard on sitting up on her own these past few days. As you can see by the video in my last post, she is very excitable, too. She's still waking mama up once or twice a night, but she goes back down to sleep pretty easily. A far cry (ha!) from what the six weeks were like. Still very tolerant of Ryker, she really enjoys watching her crazy brother run around the house. Ryker is maturing as well and doesn't feel compelled to smack her head or poke her eyes out every chance he gets. Time-outs have been very effective on him.
Kendyll is very strong and is rolling over from front to back very easily. She also loves to try to sit up from a lying position. She can't sit up yet, but looks like she's doing crunches. The ladies at her daycare call it baby pilates. :)
Kendyll gets really hungry late in the day but isn't taking to solids well. She just prefers the bottle. It's definitely harder to dedicate time to helping Kendyll eat more when there's another little one running around demanding attention. I keep trying, though.
She just talks up a storm if you give her a chance. She loves any time I can devote to her, but also fairly independent and is happy sitting in her chair or jumperoo watching her brother.
